Set 2-Hour Alarms
Starting when you begin work (e.g. 8 AM), set a repeating timer every 2 hours until your workday ends. Use your phone, a Pomodoro timer, or the Focus Dashboard.
Track your energy for 3 days. Find your peak hours. Schedule your hard work when your brain is actually ready for it.
Starting when you begin work (e.g. 8 AM), set a repeating timer every 2 hours until your workday ends. Use your phone, a Pomodoro timer, or the Focus Dashboard.
When the timer rings, write two numbers (1–10): (a) How alert do you feel? (b) If you sat down to do hard work right now, how effective would you be? Don't overthink — first instinct is usually right.
Weekdays only — Monday to Wednesday is ideal. Avoid days with unusual events (travel, illness, all-day meetings). You want your normal pattern, not an outlier.
After 3 days, circle your highest energy+focus windows. Most people find a clear 2–3 hour morning peak. That's your deep work zone. Schedule your hardest task there. Everything else goes around it.
